Requirements and steps to get your TVTF

It's easier than you think!

The Border Worker Visitor Card is very important if you are going to work in southern Mexico, because it will guarantee that you have all the rights of the law, just like Mexican workers.

So now you know: if you have an offer to work in Campeche, Tabasco, Chiapas or Quintana Roo, come to the offices of the National Institute of Migration of Mexico at the 7 international points in the states of Chiapas, Tabasco and Quintana Roo.

Processing your card is simple and you must do it in person and by yourself, without hiring anyone.

What are the requirements? A written offer of employment, signed by the employer or its legal representative. It must specify salary, occupation, duration, place of work and employer registration data. Valid and up-to-date identity document. Three photos on a white background: two facing front and another one on profile. The dimensions are 2,5 x 3 cm. Proof of payment of fees for $560 Mexican pesos (cost for 2025). But if the salary you are going to have equals the minimum in Mexico, the procedure will be free for you.

A federal immigration agent will interview you and review your documents for the immigration process. Once the information has been verified, you will be given the resolution of the application. If the resolution is favorable, they will take your fingerprints, iris, signature, and digital photograph. At the end of this procedure, you will be given the Border Worker Visitor Card (TVTF).
