To migrate regularly, you need your personal documents..
Follow these steps to obtain, renew, or correct your ID and travel documents, such as your passport, national ID card, and birth certificate.
1. LOOK FOR THE CRF SIGN
If you are at the border, look for the sign that says "Border Resource Center (CRF)" closest to you. Talk to an agent at the center who can provide accurate information of the service you need.
If you are at the airport, speak with an immigration agent who can help you identify the nearest office for identity and travel documents services.
2. CALL 8840 FOR FREE
Call 8840 for free to get all the information you need, such as office locations, opening hours, or what documents you need before you go to a CRLDI.
When can you call 8840?
The 8840 line is open during the week. You can call Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 8 PM. On Friday, you can call from 8 AM to 2 PM.
3. GO TO A CRLDI
Once you have all the verified information, go to the closest Reception and Delivery Center for Identity Documents (CRLDI).
Services are available at the CRLDIs.
Inside the CRLDI, you can start the process to obtain your passport, national ID card, and birth certificate to travel safely.
4. PICK UP YOUR DOCUMENTS
Ensure you receive a receipt with a date informing you when to pick up your document.
Always pick up your documents at the same office where you applied for them.
For visiting other countries, you will require identity documents and your passport.
When you go through the legal process to obtain your ID and travel documents, you have a better chance of successfully completing the process and avoiding scammers taking advantage of you.

“When the immigration officer caught me, I showed him my ID, which helped me avoid mistreatment. I now know where to apply for my passport at the CRLDI closer to me; however, I hope I can afford to pay the application fees soon.”
